Cambodia's Civil Aviation Sector to Receive $500,000 Grant from France

Phnom Penh: Minister in Charge of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation,Mao Hovannal, together with the Director General of the French Civil Aviation Authority (DGAC), Damien Caze and the Director of the French Agency for Development (AFD), Ophelie Bourhis have signed a technical assistance agreement on Tuesday ,for a civil aviation capacity building project.

Through the agreement, the French government will provide a grant of approximately $ 500,000 to implement a capacity building project in the Cambodian civil aviation sector aimed at improving and improving the security and environment of Cambodia's airports, as well as Increase the attractiveness of air tourists to Cambodia by assisting the Secretariat of Civil Aviation to implement aviation safety regulations and strengthen safety and environmental conditions at Cambodian airports.

The project focuses on four priority areas such as strengthening airport airport management, providing training and capacity building on aviation technical maintenance, providing training and capacity building for aviation medical personnel, and enhancing airport security.

Minister Mao Havannal expresses his deep gratitude the people and the Royal Government of France for providing the grant in response to the needs and priorities of the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation. He emphasized that the signing ceremony was a testament to the long and fruitful relationship between the Royal Government of Cambodia and the French Government, as well as the good cooperation between the two countries' civil aviation authorities. In addition, it reflects the confidence and high appreciation of the Government of the French Republic on the wise leadership of Prime Minister of Cambodia. And he also pointed out that this is not the first time that the French Republic has extended its assistance to Cambodia.

Since 1999, the Secretariat of State for Civil Aviation of Cambodia and the French Civil Aviation Authority have signed a number of technical assistance agreements to implement various projects. These partnerships demonstrate the commitment to further strengthen the strong partnership of the Royal Government of the French Republic with the Royal Government of Cambodia.
